Transalpino Transalpine Tee - Navy
Transalpino (Italian for transalpine) was a British company set up in the 50s to shift migrant workers around Europe. Italian Toni Brandi got things up and running at Shaftsbury avenue with a first floor office and a tiny shop. As the demand grew, in all ten branches opened throughout the UK (four in London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast, Birmingham and Liverpool) and a legend was born. Not only was the travel cheap but the tickets could be easily doctored for further use earning the nickname ‘the rub out’. As the 80s unfolded, Europe beckoned via foreign football ties. With this many developed an appetite for rare training shoes and designer sportswear, all obtained by any means necessary and facilitated by this popular mode of transport.
