This Spanish icon has been been worn by many celecrities including Abba, Rod Stewart, Johan Cruijff & Björn Borg .
Many a teenager would be hunting out these jeans on Spanish package holidays in the late 70s.
2.Fiorucci Jeans.
A true stalwart that deserves number two on this list, founded in Milan in the 1960s and was part of the late 70s denim boom. Sister Sledge name checked the brand alongside Gucci in their 1979 hit 'He's The Greatest Dancer' |
3.Ball Jeans.An Italian brand founded in Rimini, another label that was popular with football casuals. Now owned by a Danish company

4.C17 Jeans.
Although not part of the original denim boom we could compile this list without including C17, a French brand that was popular with terrace lads in the 80s and 90s.
5.Razzy/Ritzy Jeans.
Razzy and its sibling Ritzy were very popular on council estates in the late 70s and heading into the 80s. All so well know for their criss cross cords. |
6.Inega Jeans.Stories differ about this label as there was two brands available back in about 1978, one was Spanish and the other was from the UK, the British label was related to the Ritzy/Razzy brand |
7.Fruit of the Loom Jeans.An American brand that was better known for its underwear and workwear untill their jeans became popular amongst label hungry kids in the late 70s |
8.Second Image Jeans.Like several others on this list, Second Image was part of the 1978 denim boom, a time when labels changed monthly. It was a brand that could be found both on market stalls and in fashion stores. |
9.FU's Jeans.First sold at Jean Machine in Manchester’s Arndale Centre, lads (and girls) from Liverpool would travel to Manchester to buy these.It was like going to an away game, as the Mancs knew they were coming. |
10.Flemings Jeans.Hailing from Kirkdale in Liverpool, Flemings were popular among Skins and Suedeheads in the '70s and remained present during the denim boom of 1978. |
